Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 4 John J. Petraroi has been activated and mobilized for deployment to an undisclosed overseas forward operating location to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The son of John J. and Mary J. Petraroi of Long Neck, Petraroi is a helicopter maintenance test pilot regularly assigned to Detachment 1, 146th Medical Company in Knoxville, Tenn. He has 17 years of military service.

Enduring Freedom is the official name given to the biggest U.S. military mobilization since the Gulf War in 1991. Members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces have been deployed and reserve components activated to support the war against global terrorism, combating the international terrorist network or regime forces outside the United States. Reservists help fill and augment critical positions of the active duty force mission.

Petraroi's wife, Janet, is the daughter of Barbra Willis of Kingston Springs, Tenn.

The warrant officer received an associate degree in 1985 from Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, N.J.
