Cape Grad Departs Saudi Operation

Army National Guard Spec. Melissa M. Rhoades has departed from Eskan Village, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the soldier provided force protection for U.S. forces. 

The soldier assisted in providing around-the-clock security surveillance, patrols and police support at the Army Forces Central Command-Saudi Arabia site.

The returning reserve component soldier is a member of either the 153rd Military Police Company based in Delaware City, Del., or the 28th Military Police Company based in Pennsylvania. 

While at Eskan Village, the soldier performed and accomplished duties of a force protection team member. Rhoades is a military policewoman and has been in the service for three years.

She is the daughter of Diane M. and William E. Rhoades of Lewes, Del.

The specialist is a 2000 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes.
