"Parents Make it Happen," a talk show sponsored by the Delaware Parents Educational Association, can be seen in Sussex County on Channel 29 each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
The show focuses on school issues. The DPEA also hosts a radio call-in show called "Parent to Parent" on WDEL (AM 1150) every Sunday at 7 p.m. Both programs are part of the association's efforts to empower parents by giving them ideas for involvement in their children's education.
Parents can join the Delaware Parents Educational Association and receive four newsletters each year, a referral site for counseling, mentoring and tutoring, three hours of parent/student advocacy service per year, emergency intervention for educational services, discounted workshops, use of the DPEA library of radio and television shows and a parent involvement video called "Positive Communcations Through Partnerships."
Send membership checks to the Delaware Parents Educational Association, 26 Airdrie Drive, Bear, DE 19701.
