The Vikings started the New Year with a loss to the Henlopen Conference Northern Division powerhouse on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004.
Cape trailed 42-22 at halftime. The outcome was sealed when Seaford outscored the Vikings 24-9 in the third quarter.
The Vikings, now 1-3 in the conference and overall, were led by Brittany Reed's 11 points. Aisha Holloman and Lisa Williams contributed 7 points apiece.
Cape Henlopen 33, Smyrna 24
The Vikings recorded their first victory with the Henlopen Conference triumph on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003.
Cape fell behind early but limited Smyrna to only 2 points in the second quarter and 7 in the third to take a 27-22 advantage into the fourth period.
Aisha Holloman led the Vikings, who rose to 1-2 in the conference and overall, with 11 points. Lisa Williams added 8 points.
Sussex Tech 66, Cape Henlopen 41
The Vikings remained winless with the Henlopen Conference Northern Division loss on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003.
Cape was outscored by Sussex Tech 15-6 in the first period and 24-9 in the third quarter in falling to 0-2 in the conference and overall.
Lisa Williams led Cape with 19 points. Samantha Purple contributed 10.
Dover 66, Cape Henlopen 30
The Vikings dropped the Henlopen Conference Northern Division contest in the debut of new head coach Tom Finnegan on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003.
Cape trailed 14-5 after the first quarter but recovered somewhat to trail just 23-18 at halftime. Dover, however, outscored the Vikings 23-4 in the third quarter to put the game away.
Lisa Williams and Samantha Purple paced the Vikings with 8 points apiece. Williams' total included a three-pointer.
