2003-2004 Delmar Girls' Basketball Schedule

Polytech 35, Delmar 34

The Wildcats came up just short in a close Henlopen Conference loss on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004.

Jannae White sparked Delmar with 15 points, while Shanta Dickerson contributed 11 points.

The two teams battled nip-and-tuck the whole way, with Polytech taking a 17-16 halftime lead before Delmar tied the score 26-26 after three quarters.

Delmar 37, Indian River 30

The Wildcats overcame a two-point first quarter to capture the third-place game in the Mardela (Md.) Tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003.

Despite scoring only two points in the first period, the Wildcats trailed Indian River by just one point, 3-2, at the end of the first quarter.

Delmar then took control of the game in the second quarter to post a 14-9 halftime advantage it would not give up the rest of the way.

Shanta Dickerson sparked the Wildcats by scoring 8 of her 21 points in the second quarter.

Sussex Central 65, Delmar 34

The Wildcats couldn't keep up early and lost any hope for a comeback with only four points in the fourth period in the first round of the Mardela (Md.) Tournament on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003.

Delmar fell behind Sussex Central 30-20 at halftime and 48-30 after three quarters.

Shanta Dickerson led Delmar with 17 points, while Jannae White added 15.

Delmar Milford 47, Delmar 31

The Wildcats suffered their first loss on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003.

Delmar fell behind Milford 12-3 after the first quarter and never recovered in falling to 2-1 overall.

Jannae White led Delmar with 15 points.

Delmar 56, Woodbridge 45

The Wildcats remained unbeaten with a strong fourth quarter on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.

Delmar led by only two points going into the fourth quarter but outscored Woodbridge 19-10 the rest of the way to rise to 2-0 overall.

Jannae White sparked the victory with 18 points, while Shanta Dickerson and Kennedy Kennan contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively. Keenan sank a three-pointer.

Delmar 42, Indian River 41

The Wildcats rode a roller-coaster to the nonconference victory on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003.

Delmar jumped out to a 12-3 lead after one quarter only to see Indian River put together a 16-6 advantage in the third quarter to pull ahead 31-28 entering the final period.

The Wildcats regrouped, though, and outscored IR 14-10 in the final quarter.

Shonte Dickerson led the way for Delmar with 19 points, while Janae White added 12 more.
