2003-2004 Sussex Tech Girls' Basketball Schedule

Sussex Tech 57, Indian River 14

The Ravens' defense limited an opponent to a season-low for the second straight game on Friday, Jan. 16, 2004.

After holding Woodbridge to 16 points on Tuesday, the Ravens came back with another sterling defensive effort against Indian River to rise to 8-0 in the Henlopen Conference and 11-0 overall.

It's the fourth time this year that the Ravens have held an opponent to less than 20 points.

Offensively, Tech was paced by 11 points from Anika Jones and 10 more from Brittany Atkins. Andrea Harper and Janise Henderson chipped in with 8 and 7 points, respectively.

Sussex Tech 66, Woodbridge 16

The Ravens rolled to their largest margin of victory of the season as they improved to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in the Henlopen Conference on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004.

Tech outscored Woodbridge 30-1 in the first quarter and 20-3 in the third period to put the game away.

Brittany Atkins sparked the win with 16 points. Andrea Harper was also in double figures with 12 points. Monette Malabet and Janise Henderson contributed 8 points apiece.

Sussex Tech 60, Milford 24

The Ravens rose to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the Henlopen Conference as they rolled to an easy win on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004.

Andrea Harper led the way with a game-high 21 points. Brittany Atkins added 12 points and Janise Henderson contributed 11.

Tech led Milford 30-14 at halftime and put the game on ice in the third quarter with a 26-4 advantage.

Sussex Tech 74, Dover 33

The Ravens remained unbeaten with a Henlopen Conference Northern Division rout on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004.

Tech hit the 70-point mark for the second time this season and won by more than 40 points for the third time as it rose to 8-0 overall.

Andrea Harper led four players in double figures with 18 points. Brittany Atkins added 16 points, Anika Jones contributed 14 points, and Monette Malabet chipped in with 11 points.

The Ravens broke the game open in the second and third periods when they outscored Dover 46-15. Tech is 5-0 in the conference.

Sussex Tech 55, Caesar Rodney 48

The Ravens got their toughest test of the season but remained unbeaten with the Henlopen Conference victory on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003.

In rising to 7-0, Tech got a season-high 28 points, including a pair of three-pointers, from senior Andrea Harper, a transfer from Polytech.

Senior Brittany Atkins added 13 points and Monette Malabet contributed 9.

Tech jumped out to a 32-17 halftime lead and held on from there despite being outscored by 7 points in the third quarter.

Sussex Tech 72, Middletown 28

The Ravens rolled to the championship of the Wilmington Friends Quaker Classic on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003.

Tech continued to throttle the opposition with its strong defense as it held Middletown to just 4 points in the first period en route to a 38-17 halftime lead.

Brittany Atkins and Anika Jones combined for 33 points as Tech rose to 6-0 overall, with Atkins totalling 18 of those points and Jones 15.

Andrea Harper, Amber Henderson and Monette Malabet added 9, 8 and 7 points, respectively.

Sussex Tech 53, Hodgson 17

The Ravens held an opponent to less than 20 points for the second time this season as they easily won the first round game in the Wilmington Friends Quaker Classic on Friday, Dec. 26, 2003.

Tech held Hodgson to just 2 points in each of the first and third quarters as it rose to 5-0 overall.

Brittany Atkins scored 17 points and Amber Henderson 14 to lead the win. Henderson buried a pair of three-pointers. Monette Malabet added 8 more points.

Sussex Tech 53, Delcastle 27

Senior forward Brittany Atkins erupted for a season-high 25 points as the Ravens remained unbeaten with the nonconference win on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003.

Atkins was joined in double figures by Andrea Harper, who scored 13 points including a three-pointer.

Tech jumped out to a 31-12 halftime lead. The Ravens are now 4-0 overall.

Sussex Tech 61, Polytech 16

The Ravens remained unbeaten in the Henlopen Conference Northern Division with the easy win on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003.

Tech stormed out to a 20-3 lead after the first quarter and didn't let up, as defending state champion Polytech scored only 13 points the rest of the way, including 0 in the fourth quarter.

Brittany Atkins sparked the win for Tech with 23 points. Monette Malabet added 13 more. The Ravens are 3-0 in the Henlopen North.

Sussex Tech 66, Cape Henlopen 41

The Ravens used big efforts in the first and third periods to post an easy Henlopen Conference Northern Division win on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003.

Tech outscored Cape Henlopen 15-6 in the first quarter and 24-9 in the third period to put the game away.

Andrea Harper sparked the third period surge with 9 of her 16 points. She hit a pair of three-pointers in the game. Brittany Atkins and Anika Jones contributed 13 points each.

Sussex Tech 60, Lake Forest 26

The Ravens had no trouble dispatching Lake Forest on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.

Andrea Harper led the way for Tech with 16 points including the game's only three-point basket.

Cole Pavlik and Brittany Atkins, meanwhile, contributed 10 points apiece, and Anika Jones added 8 points.

Tech led 16-5 after one period, 31-14 at halftime and 49-19 after three periods.
