Lincoln resident Gregory W. Fuller Sr. was appointed to the Sussex County Register of Wills position to replace the outgoing Register of Wills, David Wilson.

Delaware Gov. Ruth Ann Minner announced the appointment of Fuller, 46, on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008. She appointed Fuller Thursday after receiving the resignation of Wilson, who is leaving the post after being elected as a state representative.

Fuller retired after 21 years in the U.S. Army. Since 1991, he has worked in a number of positions in state government, first as a lieutenant at the Department of Correction and later in supervisory roles with youth detention facilities at the Department of Services for Children Youth and Their Families.

He is now a security and safety inspector for DSCYF's secure care facilities. Fuller is married with two children.

"I thank Gov. Minner for this opportunity to serve the people of Sussex County," Fuller said. "It is a true honor, and I will do my best to fulfill the duties of the position."

"Gregory's prior experience in state government will serve him well as Register of Wills," Gov. Minner said. "I thank him for his interest in the position and believe he will work hard for the people of Sussex County."
