Big Thursday Events Canceled - UPDATE

Although the Big Thursday Festival and Car Show had to be canceled this year due to the threat of heavy rain and concern for public safety, a few events will still take place or have been rescheduled.
 
The Millsboro Fire Company's Toy and Train Show will be open at the Millsboro Fire Hall on State Street, Saturday, Aug. 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Miniature trains of all kinds, as well as toy tractors, trucks, Hot Wheels and Matchbook cars, NASCAR models, and other toys will be on display and for sale. Breakfast and lunch will be available. Admission is $3 for adults; children 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.
 
The Millsboro Art League on Main Street will be open Saturday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an Art Show.
 
The DAM Mill 5K Run has been rescheduled for Sunday, Aug. 29, 8 a.m., at Cupola Park, at the end of Morris Street. In the Millsboro Pageant held Thursday evening at the Civic Center, three new 2004-05 title holders were crowned. They are:  Little Miss Millsboro Janelle Marie Ames, age 4, daughter of Bryan and Julie Ames; Junior Miss Chelsea Collins, 11, daughter of Paul and Charity Collins; and Miss Teen Kelly-Jo Steiner, 14, daughter of Charles and Linda Steiner.
