Dewey Beach's slogan has long been "A Way of Life ...", and for a long time, that has meant party city for college kids living it up before the fall semester.

The town has tried to change that image in recent years, but the party atmosphere continues strong in town with throngs of kids hopping along Route 1 from one bar to the next.

Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Rehoboth Bay on the west, Dewey is a hotbed of watersports activity, too.

Home to the national skimboarding championships every year, recreational activities include swimming, sunbathing, volleyball, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and boating.
