37th Rep. Race |
to New Term in House SC Online Publisher
Incumbent John R. Schroeder is headed back to Dover after an easy victory in the state House of Representatives 37th District race on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000.
Schroeder, a 49-year-old Democrat from Lewes, has been the 37th District's representative since 1988. He said education, the environment, growth, health insurance, and tax relief for seniors are the major issues in the district. He said class sizes must be reduced further, that the state should pay 90 percent of new school construction, that the pension-income tax exclusion should be increased, and that growth must be controlled. Crystal, a 54-year-old Republican, said she ran because she feels the 37th District needs a full-time representative. She listed the environment, education, infrastructure, health care and tax cuts as the primary issues she would address. |
