Tina FallonPopular incumbent Tina Fallon will be riding her motorcycle back to Dover again as she handily regained her 39th District Representative seat.

Fallon earned 3,176 votes to beat challenger Michael McGroerty, who finished with 1,568 votes. Fallon's margin of victory was 66.9 percent to 33.1 percent.

Fallon, the 85-year-old icon of Sussex County politics, was a 12-term incumbent. The retired teacher said improving education continued to be her top priority.

McGroerty, a 54-year-old Democrat from Seaford, ran against Fallon in 2000. He served five years on the Seaford school board. During this campaign, he pledged to work for smaller government and for equal funding for school districts state-wide.
