Cape Henlopen 2, Sussex Tech 1 (OT)
The Ravens concluded their season with a tough loss to favored Cape Henlopen on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Tech tied the score in the first half on a goal by Shari Benson and then battled the Vikings evenly until Cape finally broke through in the overtime period.
Benson was assisted by Lauren Corell. Goalie Jasmine Timmons recorded 14 saves for the Ravens.
Sussex Tech 3, Sussex Central 1
The Ravens finally got over the hump as they defeated their cross-town rivals for the first time on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Tech got a pair of goals from Lauren Correll and another from Caitlin McCarthy in knocking off Sussex Central for the first time in the program's 12 years.
Lyndsey Ellsworth contributed an assist for Tech, which rose to 6-7 in the conference and 6-8 overall with its fifth straight win.
Sussex Tech 4, Woodbridge 0
The Ravens won their fourth straight with the Henlopen Conference victory on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Tech broke open a close game at halftime with three second-half goals.
Bethany Pavik posted a hat trick to lead the Ravens, who also got a goal from Shari Benson.
Lauren Correll had two assists and Caroline Darnsney one.
Tech led Woodbridge 27-4 in shots and 11-3 in penalty corners. Goalie Kelly Schirmer registered the shutout with 3 saves.
Tech is now 4-6 in the conference and has outscored its last four opponents 15-5.
Sussex Tech 5, Polytech 1
The Ravens continued their hot streak with their third straight Henlopen Conference win on Thursday, Oct. 9.
After spotting Polytech a 1-0 lead, the Ravens ripped off five straight goals to rise to 3-6 overall.
Lauren Correll and Caitlin McCarthy had a goal and assist apiece for the Ravens, while Shari Benson, Tiamia Black and Bethany Pavlik added a goal each.
Kelly Schirmer recorded 5 saves for Tech, which led 20-6 in shots and 17-7 in penalty corners.
Sussex Tech 4, Smyrna 2
The Ravens made it two in a row with the Henlopen Conference victory on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
Shari Benson scored a pair of goals for Tech, which rose to 2-6 overall.
Caroline Darnsney and Bethany Pavlik scored the other Raven goals, while Kelly Schirmer registered 4 saves in goal.
Tech held advantages of 10-6 in shots and 12-9 in penalty corners.
Sussex Tech 2, Dover 1 (OT)
The Ravens broke through for their first win of the season in a Henlopen Conference overtime affair on Thursday, Oct . 2.
Lauren Correll scored both of Tech's goals including the game-winner in overtime.
The Ravens trailed statistically -- 12-6 in shots and 15-6 in penalty corners. Tech goalie Ashley Holton kept the Ravens in the game with 3 saves.
Tech is now 1-6.
Milford 2, Sussex Tech 0
The Ravens continued to seek their first win after the Henlopen Conference shutout on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Tech tied Milford 7-7 in shots and led 7-2 in penalty corners but couldn't cash in on its opportunities.
Goalie Kelly Schirmer had 3 saves for the Ravens, who fell to 0-6.
Lake Forest 3, Sussex Tech 2 (OT)
The winless Ravens nearly upset unbeaten Lake Forest in a Henlopen Conference contest on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Tech led 1-0 in the first half and 2-1 in the second half, but Lake battled back to force overtime and then won the game in OT on a Colleen Gleeson goal.
Caitlin McCarthy scored Tech's first half goal, while Lauren Correll added the second half goal.
Goalie Kelly Schirmer recorded 6 saves for Tech, which trailed 14-12 in penalty corners but tied Lake Forest 12-12 in shots.
Caesar Rodney 4, Sussex Tech 0
The Ravens managed only two shots in the Henlopen Conference defeat on Thursday, Sept. 25.
It was the third shutout loss suffered by Tech this season. Raven goalie Kelly Schirmer recorded 8 saves.
Laurel 4, Sussex Tech 1
The Ravens remained winless in the Henlopen Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
Lauren Correll scored the Ravens' only goal in the first half. Kelly Schirmer posted 3 saves in goal.
The Ravens, now 0-2 in the conference, were outshot by Laurel 15-11 and trailed 25-14 in penalty corners.
Delmar 2, Sussex Tech 0
The Ravens suffered their second loss of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 10, to fall to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the Henlopen Conference.
Tech actually outplayed Delmar with an 11-10 advantage in shots and a 12-11 edge in penalty corners but couldn't find the net.
