Rehoboth Beach Film Society presents "10 Questions For The Dali Lama"

REHOBOTH BEACH FILM SOCIETY PRESENTS A SCREENING OF 10 QUESTIONS FOR THE DALI LAMA. Rehoboth Beach Film Society will screen 10 Questions for the Dali Lama at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 27, in the upstairs screening room at the Movies at Midway. Against the backdrop of an exotic land, filmmaker Rick Ray is granted one hour to ask ten questions of the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. This is the Dali Lama’s story, as told and filmed by Ray during a private visit to his monastery in Dharamsala, India. The film contains rare historical footage as well as footage supplied by individuals who, at great personal risk, filmed with hidden cameras within Tibet. The result is a story woven between a journeyman's personal observations, the troubled history of a government-in-exile, and the life and wisdom of one of the premiere spiritual leaders of our time. [2006, Runtime: 85 min., Not rated, but recommended for mature audiences] Dr. Joerg Tuske, Professor of Philosophy at Salisbury University, will lead a discussion following the screening. Dr. Tuske specializes in Indian philosophy and has studied in India for several years. Dr. Tuske has also spent time in Dharamsala and Tibet. Monthly screenings are free for card-carrying RBFS members. A suggested donation of $3.00 is requested from non-members to help cover film rental fees. The mission of the Rehoboth Beach Film Society is to create understanding of and appreciation for film as an art form. The Film Society sponsors the Art House Theater, monthly screenings, community outreach initiatives, special events, and the annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (November 5 - 9, 2008).
