THE REHOBOTH BEACH FILM SOCIETY AND THE REHOBOTH BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY CONTINUE THIRD THURSDAY THEATER, A CHILDREN’S FILM SERIES, ON MAY 15. The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the Rehoboth Beach Public Library will continue Third Thursday Theater with at 6:00 PM. Children and their guardians can bring a picnic after school snack to enjoy while watching a children’s film. The next session will take place on May 15, in the Rehoboth Beach Library’s upstairs meeting room. This animated feature is about an old widow who is in danger of foreclosure on her farm unless she can come up with $750 for the mortgage. The farm animals overhear this and, knowing she will not be able to come up with the money, hatch their own plan. The dairy cows consult the local sheriff’s horse, a former bounty hunter, who just so happens to know about a bandit on the loose in a nearby town. Luckily for the farm animals, the reward for capturing this crook happens to be exactly $750. [2004, Runtime: 76 min., Rated: PG] At each session, a book that corresponds to the film’s theme will be awarded as a door prize. Admission is a suggested donation of $1 per person to help defray program costs. This program is governed by a MPLC license which prevents the title of the film from being advertised. Third Thursday Theater is a monthly children’s film series that features the screening of an age appropriate film for the purpose of exposing youth to cinematic arts as a means of entertaining, educating, and/or raising awareness of numerous social issues. Third Thursday Theater is held at 4 PM. on the third Thursday of every month in the upstairs community room of the Rehoboth Beach Public Library.
