As a resident of Ocean View, I was glad to see Ocean View Town Council vote to rescind the resolutions that were scheduled to be voted on in a non-binding referendum on Saturday, Dec. 9.
The referendum question -- Centralized Water, For or Against? -- was misleading and unfair to residents who want or need centralized water but don't approve of Tidewater Utilities, Inc.
Some of us -- perhaps many of us -- would have been forced to vote against centralized water even though we want it because the referendum was actually about accepting a proposal from Tidewater, a proposal and a company that many residents oppose.
Now that the referendum has been cancelled and we all have a chance to catch our breath, what is your opinion on centralized water in Ocean View? Are you in favor of renegotiating with Tidewater, building our own water system, finding another utility company, or against a centralized water system altogether. Post your opinions here.

Good for you Ocean View! Tidewater's Esposito, a former Sussex Co. employee, has a "sweetheart deal" of water supply franchises for about half of Sussex that he got from Sussex Co. That "award of franchise" goes against the public interest & I believe it is unenforceable. Cut out the middle-man; build & manage your own water company.
