Open Houses

The Indian River School District will host a pair of open houses to highlight its adult education department's course offerings on Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, as part of its National Community Education Day celebration.

Part of National Community Education Day, the open houses will be held at the Indian River Educational Complex on Hoosier Street in Selbyville from 4-6:30 p.m. and at the La Esperanza Community Center on North Race Street in Georgetown from 5-7 p.m. Both events are open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The goal of the open houses is to promote the variety of adult education programs offered by the Indian River School District. The adult education department's course offerings include General Education Development (GED) and English as a Second Language.

National Community Education Day is Tuesday, Nov. 16. Throughout the week, local adult education centers will open their doors to the public. The event focuses on building communities where individuals, public schools, businesses and government agencies work together to create and support learning opportunities for people of all ages.

For more information about the open houses, contact Tim Coar, adult education specialist, at 302-436-1000.
