Rogers as President SC Online Content Editor GEORGETOWN -- Sussex County Council elected Lynn Rogers as president for 2003 during its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003. Rogers, a Milton Democrat, is in his second term on the council. He previously served as president in 2000. He replaces Finley B. Jones, a Bridgeville Democrat who served as president in 2002. Vincent Robertson, also a member of the Griffin & Hackett firm, was appointed to represent the county Planning and Zoning Commission. Richard E. Berl Jr., a member of the law firm Smith, O'Donnell, Procino & Berl, also of Georgetown, will represent the county Board of Adjustment. Also adopted were the council's rules and procedures. "We don't follow them, but they look good on paper," said council member Finley Jones. In another annual tradition, Phillips again proposed moving council meetings to the evening. Like last year, Phillips' motion was defeated 3-2, with council member George Cole voting in favor of the motion. The meetings will remain at their traditional time -- 10 a.m. on Tuesdays.
