WGMD program director and morning show host Dan Gaffney was recently honored with the presentation of a House of Representatives Tribute in the House Chamber of Legislative Hall.

The tribute, the work of State Reps. Pete Schwartzkopf and John Atkins, recognized Mr. Gaffney's work in staging a Rally for America to show support for U.S. troops overseas on March 8 in Rehoboth Beach.

The ceremony at the Rehoboth bandstand drew an estimated 2,500 people and included the reading of local service men and women stationed overseas.

The ceremony was held less than two weeks before the United States began an invasion of Iraq to remove Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein from power.
