Fall Fishing Hot on Sussex Coast Photos: Whether fishing from the rockpiles (top) or from a boat or the surf (bottom), the Indian River Inlet is providing plenty of action this fall. INDIAN RIVER INLET -- Dozens of anglers fished the Indian River Inlet in the late afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999. From the Delaware Bay south along the surf to Fenwick Island, anglers are finding plenty of Bluefish in the surf, Flounder on the open bottom, and Tuna offshore. The Bluefish arrived just in time for the annual Bethany-Fenwick Surf Fishing Tournament Oct. 9-10. The tournament draws hundreds of anglers every year in pursuit of the tournament championship and the $25,000 reward to any angler landing the Delaware state record Bluefish. The following fishing reports will give you updated information on saltwater fishing conditions in Sussex County.
