Silent Night OCEAN VIEW -- The town of Ocean View's annual Christmas Carols in the Park went off Friday night, Dec. 10, 1999, despite rains that canceled the event's hayride caroling through the community. Dozens of local residents gathered together at John T. West Park to sing old favorites like Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, and Silent Night. The carolers -- kids, parents and grandparents -- were led by town manager Joe Lobb. They ushered in Santa Claus, who arrived on a Millville Fire Company truck to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." Chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate were served in the town hall afterward. ![]() |
