The first signs of race week in downstate Delaware are always the displays of stock cars at area businesses. On Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, Carey's Inc. on U.S. 13 in Laurel hosted a display that included the Coyne Textile Services No. 90 Busch Grand National car that will be driven by rookie Brad Loney Saturday in the MBNA Gold 200 at Dover Downs International Speedway. The Winston Cup MBNA Gold 400 follows Sunday starting at noon. Also in the display are Dwarf stock cars raced at the Delmar and Georgetown tracks and a pickup truck raced at the U.S. 13 International Speedway drag strip. The Dwarf stock cars, equipped with motorcycle engines, attain speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. The truck can attain speeds of 120 miles per hour on a straight drag strip.
