Hammers Sussex ![]() High Water, Plowing Snow Treacherous Driving Winter Storm Videos More in the Storm Center The biggest snowstorm to hit Sussex County in four years hammered Sussex County on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000. Typical scenes in the central and western portions of Sussex County were the constant plowing of DelDot's snow plows, shown above clearing the shoulder near the intersection of Routes 24 and 30. Along the coast, residents kept a wary eye on rising waters such as Indian River Bay (below), which had flooded up to the shoulder of Route 1 South by early afternoon Tuesday. ![]() |
