Caesar Rodney (15-0, 17-1) at Seaford (12-1, 13-3) (Coverage on SC Online Tonight) CAESAR RODNEY: The Riders come into the game without a loss in the Henlopen Conference. Their record includes a 44-36 victory over Seaford back on Dec. 16, 1999. Few teams have come close to CR this season, as the Riders hold a 55.0-35.6 scoring advantage over their opponents. The Riders have a balanced attack led by Erica Woods' 11.2 points per game. The Riders beat Dover 54-42 on Tuesday, Feb. 8, behind Cherice Franklin's 11 points. Four other Riders scored 8 points apiece in that win. Trish Casarotto SEAFORD: The Blue Jays will look to avenge their 44-36 December loss to the Riders in their battle to defend their Henlopen Conference championship. In the earlier loss to CR, the Blue Jays had just gotten standouts Tamekia Ross and Shiree Halley back from two-game suspensions. Seaford has only lost once since then -- a 59-44 loss to upstate foe Padua -- and are outscoring their opponents 51.2-39.1. Ross, a senior forward, is the conference's third leading scorer at 16.2 points a game. Halley, a senior point guard, scored her 1,000th career point in a 60-35 victory over Sussex Central on Tuesday, Feb. 8. She scored 25 points in that game and averages 13.9 points. |
