Cape Henlopen 2, Milford 1 (OT) The Buccaneers were outplayed but stayed close to the state's second-ranked team behind goalie Katie Holloway's six saves. The Bucs lost the game at 1:32 in overtime on a goal by Cape's Maren Ford. Milford trailed 1-0 at halftime but a goal by the Bucs' Andrea Flemming tied the score and set up the extra period. Milford trailed 12-4 in shots and 14-3 in penalty corners. Delmar 3, Milford 0 The Buccaneers couldn't get on the scoreboard against the state's third-ranked team. Goalie Katie Holloway had 3 saves for the Bucs Milford 1, Laurel 1 The Buccaneers dominated the contest throughout but could only forge a tie. Milford outshot Laurel 23-3 but only scored on a goal by Kayla Darling. Milford 4, Woodbridge 2 Two goals apiece by Carrie Greer and Andrea Flemming lifted the Bucs past the Raiders. Now 3-2 overall, the Bucs held a 4-0 lead before Woodbridge scored its goals. Milford 3, Lake Forest 0 The Bucs rebounded from their loss to Smyrna with a shutout behind the goalkeeping of Katie Holloway. Kelly Simon led the way offensively with a goal and assist. Carrier Greer and Andrea Flemming scored the other two goals while Kayla Darling posted an assist. Smyrna 3, Milford 2 The Buccaneers, outshot 19-10, were tied 1-1 before Smyrna put in two second half goals. Andrea Flemming scored both goals for Milford. Kelly Simon had an assist. Katie Holloway registered five saves in goal. Indian River 4, Milford 1 The Buccaneers suffered their first loss to fall to 1-1. Carrie Greer scored Milford's goal on an assist from Andrea Fleming. Milford 2, Dover 1 (OT) The Buccaneers opened their 2000 season with a victory on Andrea Fleming's unassisted goal with 2:14 left in overtime. Milford trailed 1-0 before Katie Washington tied the score in the second half. |
