The Vikings are now 0-2 in the Henlopen North and 3-3 overall. Tech rose to 1-2 and 5-2. Cape had taken a 22-21 lead with 5:36 left in the game on a 4-yard touchdown run by halfback Thaddeus Shockley and a two-point conversion run by fullback Larry Miller. But Maull's touchdown erased any hopes for a Cape comeback from a 21-7 deficit in the third quarter. Cape got back into the game with a 19-play, 65-yard touchdown drive capped by quarterback Andy Chunn's one-yard sneak. That made it 21-14. Earlier, after Cape had fallen behind 14-0 in the first half, Shockley scored from 4 yards out to pull Cape within 14-7 in the first half. His run capped another long drive, this one covering 74 yards on 14 plays. Cape hosts Caesar Rodney on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. CR is 4-2 overall after losing to Salesianum 28-7 on Oct. 19. The Riders are 2-0 in the Henlopen North. Cape Index | Sports Index | News Index |
