Delmar 33, Lake Forest 6 Photos: Delmar running back Sean Hudson. Although it wasn't quite as easy as all of its other routs this season, the Delmar football team took over sole possession of first place in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division.
Ahead just 13-6 at halftime, Hudson entered the game on the third play of the second half and guided the Wildcats to 20 straight points. Now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Henlopen South, the defending Division II state champions have won 18 straight games dating back to last season. Against Lake Forest, Brandon Hudson completed 4 of 7 passes for 46 yards and a two-point conversion to spark the offense. His brother Sean ran for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns while running back Vince Stewart scored on an 8-yard run and linebacker Lawrence Sinagra rumbled 44 yards with a fumble recovery for another score. Vincent's touchdown gave the Wildcats some breathing room at 21-6. Sean Hudson then upped the lead to 27-6 with a 60-yard scoring jaunt. Delmar visits Smyrna in a Henlopen South game on Friday, Nov. 2. Smyrna beat Laurel 18-13 in another game on Friday night. The Wildcats then face Laurel and Woodbridge in their final two games, games that will likely determine the Southern Division champion. Both Laurel and Woodbridge have one conference loss.
