Cole replaced former coach Bruce Reynolds, who set a state record with 218 wins and won six state titles over 27 seasons ... William Penn is the only team in either the Division I or Division II tournaments with three losses, but after an 0-2 start, the Colonials are 7-1 with only a loss to Newark ... The Colonials' losses have been to North Jersey power North Bergen and in-state power Newark. They also lost 7-0 to Salesianum in the season's second game ... The Colonials were the only team to give four-time defending state champion Newark a game this year, falling 28-14 ... The Colonials are led by 6-foot-5, 310-pound two-way tackle Donte Williams ... The offense is sparked by quarterbacks John Henry and Brandon Borst and running backs Ron Kimbrough and Robert Edwards ... Kimbrough ran for 640 yards and 9 touchdowns this year including 144 yards in a win over Glasgow ... Edwards rushed for 502 yards and 6 TDs ... Henry became the starting quarterback in midseason and finished with 11 completions in 24 attempts for 140 yards and three TDs ... Julian Walker is the leading receiver with 6 catches for 237 yards and 3 TDs ... William Penn is paced defensively by Williams, Nick Gear, defensive end William Brown, and Henry ... Williams has recorded 67 tackles including 4 sacks ... Gears has 52 tackles including 4 sacks ... Brown has 48 tackles including 5 1/2 sacks ... Henry has recovered four fumbles ... The Colonials come at opposing teams with a fierce pass rush that posted 8 sacks against Glasgow and 5 more against St. Mark's ... The defense has posted two shutouts.
