The Indian River football team surrendered 17 second period points in its Henlopen Conference Southern Division opener.

Now 0-4 overall, the Indians were led by fullback Johnny Meiklejohn, who scored on a 25-yard run.

Lake Forest scored first in the second quarter on a 90-yard run by Jeff Scott.

The Indians next host unbeaten Delmar on Friday, Oct. 12. Delmar is 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Henlopen South following a 43-3 victory over Seaford on Oct. 6.
