Seaford 1, Milford 1 The Blue Jays nearly pulled off a major upset but were tied at the 9:40 mark of the second half on a goal by Holly Van Auken. Shannon Taylor gave Seaford a 1-0 lead with 1:18 left in the first half. The Blue Jays led 19-13 in shots. Milford led 11-10 in penalty corners. Goalie Erica Bell made three saves. Lake Forest 4, Seaford 2 Shannon Taylor scored both goals for the Blue Jays in the Henlopen Conference loss. Seaford trailed 13-9 in shots and 17-7 in penalty corners. The win was the fifth straight for Lake Forest. Milford 6, Seaford 2 The Blue Jays got two goals from Shannon Taylor but couldn't keep pace with the Henlopen Conference's first-place team. The Blue Jays were outshot, 19-8. Seaford 1, Dover 1 (OT) The Blue Jays took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Shannon Taylor but couldn't score again in a Henlopen Conference game that saw a scoreless overtime period. Goalie Erica Bell recorded 10 saves for Seaford. Smyrna 2, Seaford 1 The Blue Jays' lone goal was scored by Shannon Taylor. Smyrna outshot Seaford 15-7. The Blue Jays led 14-9 in penalty corners. Seaford 1, Polytech 0 Monica Neal scored the game-winner for the Blue Jays on an assist from Becca Meredith at the 18:12 mark of the second half. Ericca Bell kept the Jays in the game iwth 5 saves. Seaford 8, Woodbridge 1 The Blue Jays rebounded from an early Woodbridge goal with five first half goals as they rose to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Shannon Taylor led the explosion with three first half goals and four in all. Samantha Fitzgerald added two more goals. After Lauren Holcomb scored Woodbridge's goal at 27:10 of the first half, Taylor responded with goals at 20:18, 13:00 and 8:11 to give Seaford a 4-1 lead. Samantha Fitzgerald scored at 9:53 to push the lead to 3-1 and added the Jays' final first half goal at 7:32. Monica Neal scored at the 24:40 mark of the second half, Julie Linek at the 8:48 mark, and Taylor knocked in her final goal at the 5:03 mark. Seaford held a 27-14 advantage in shots. The teams tied 10-10 in penalty corners. Goalies Erika Bell and Rosemary Stevenson combined for eight saves. Cape Henlopen 3, Seaford 0 The Blue Jays kept the game close despite being outplayed by the defending state finalists. Goalies Erica Bell and Rosemary Stevenson combined to stop 32 of Cape's 39 shots to keep Seaford in the game throughout. Seaford yielded advantages of 39-1 in shots and 23-1 in penalty corners in falling to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the Henlopen Conference.
