The Vikings were blanked in a Henlopen Conference match. Woodbridge scored the only goal at the 27:01 mark of the second haf. Goalkeeper Pat Kuhn recorded 7 saves for Cape, which actually dominated the action with a 24-12 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
Cape Henlopen 2, Smyrna 1
The Vikings recorded their third straight win to go over the .500 mark with a 5-4 overall record. Coy Evans scored the winning goal at the 35:34 mark of the first half on an assist from Brandon Clarke. The Vikings had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Mike Shook off an assist from Ray Tartal. Goalkeeper Pat Kuhn recorded 14 saves for Cape, which outshot Smyrna 25-13 and led 5-3 in corner kicks.
Cape Henlopen 1, Dover 0
The Vikings' topsy-turvy season continued with the biggest upset in the Henlopen Conference this year. In beating the previously unbeaten Senators, Cape got a goal from Chase Korneman with just 6:55 left in the match. Now 4-4 overall, the Vikings rode the goalkeeping of Pat Kuhn, who finished with 17 saves to offset Dovers' 21-9 advantage in shots and its 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. Korneman scored his goal on an assist from Ray Tartal. In a topsy-turvy season, the Vikings have scored big wins over Sussex Central, Lake Forest and now Dover, while being shut out by Sussex Tech, Delmar and Milford.
Cape Henlopen 5, Lake Forest 2
The Vikings got three goals from Chase Korneman and two more from Tay Tartal in a Henlopen Conference win. Korneman scored his first goal on a penalty kick just 1:31 into the match to spark a 4-1 Cape halftime lead. Cape outshot Lake Forest 20-8 and led 5-2 in corner kicks. Pat Kuhn recorded 13 saves for the Vikings.
Milford 3, Cape Henlopen 0
The Vikings suffered their second loss by shutout in the Henlopen Conference Northern Division defeat. Milford outshot Cape 23-8.
Delmar 5, Cape Henlopen 0
The Vikings were dominated from the start but only trailed Delmar 1-0 at halftime of the Henlopen Conference match.
Cape was never able to control the ball and trailed 18-4 in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks. Cape goalkeeper Pat Kuhn had a busy night with 23 saves.
Delmar boosted its lead midway through the second half with a pair of goals within one minute of each other.
Cape Henlopen 5, Sussex Central 0
Cape Henlopen scored a surprisingly easy Henlopen Conference Northern Division victory behind Coi Evans' two goals.
The Vikings controlled play throughout the contest as they repeatedly stymied Sussex Central's offense.
Even when Central worked its way into scoring position, it was stopped cold by Cape goalkeeper Pat Kuhn, who finished with 7 saves.
Also scoring goals for Cape were Brandon Clarke, Carlos Vanegas and Gaffney.
Tommy Grogan assisted on three of Cape's goals, while Kyle Hopkins assisted on the other two.
Cape, in rising to 1-1, led Sussex Central 15-7 in shots. The Vikings held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
Sussex Tech 1, Cape Henlopen 0
The Vikings dropped their season-opener to their Henlopen Conference Northern Division foes. Sussex Tech scored its goal in the 28th minute of the first half and then withstood a furious Cape charge the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Pat Kuhn recorded 14 saves. Cape trailed in shots, 22-20.
