Indian River 38, Polytech 13

The Indian River High School football team snapped a two-game losing streak in grand fashion with the big nonconference triumph.

Quarterback Ryan Warner posted his best game of the season by hitting 4 of his 6 attempts for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The win evened Indian River's record at 4-4 overall with its highest point total since a 40-7 victory over Polytech in 2000.

Against Polytech on Friday night, Warner completed touchdown passes of 25 and 30 yards to end Paul Macielag to stake the Indians to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter.

Ahead 28-6 at halftime, the Indians put 10 more points on the board in the third quarter as Warner hit tight end John Bulkeley with a 30-yard touchdown pass and Tim DuPont drilled a 35-yard field goal.

Fullback Thurman Hagans also had a big night with a pair of 4-yard touchdown runs. The Indians finished with 266 yards of total offense.
