Quarterback Andy Hartstein delivered a 17-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Thompson. In two games, Hartstein has thrown four touchdown passes including two TD tosses to Thompson. Devry Hill added Laurel's final touchdown on a 14-yard run for his second score of the year. Defensively, it was Laurel's first shutout since an 18-0 win over Indian River in the middle of the 2000 season. Laurel led 6-0 at halftime on Chris Horsey's first touchdown and went up 12-0 in the third period on his second score. The Bulldogs then put the game away in the fourth quarter with 14 points. In their first two games, the Bulldogs have scored 12 first-half points while piling up a 56-0 advantage in the second half. The Bulldogs defeated Riverdale 40-14 last year. Laurel has a week off before hosting Sussex Tech in a big nonconference game on Friday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m. Laurel Index | Sports Index |
