Dies in Car Accident |
Laurel Football Team
The Laurel High School football team's game against Lake Forest has been postponed from Friday, Nov. 8, to Friday, Nov. 22, due to the death of linebacker Brock Montague in a car accident earlier this week. The Laurel senior was killed in a car accident on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the high school. A viewing will be held there from noon to 2 p.m. A thread remembering Montague, a 17-year-old linebacker for the Bulldogs' football team and shortstop and pitcher for the baseball team, has been started by our Henlopen Conference Sports Forum members. We have temporarily enabled public posting for all visitors to allow those who aren't members of our Sports Forum to post their memories of and sentiments about Montague. The thread can be found by clicking this link. Montague was killed around 2:30 p.m. on Route 9 in Laurel when the 2002 Mustang he was driving ran into a dump truck. Police have not determined the cause of the crash. |
