The nonconference loss, marked by a combined 7 turnovers and 19 penalties, dropped the Bucs to 1-1 overall. Archmere scored the game's only points on a 2-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter. Milford, which held the Auks off after two second period fumbles deep in its own territory, had two shots at the end zone in the final period but turned the ball over on one series and killed another drive with a penalty. On the first drive, a 50-yard scramble by quarterback Jon Stratton was wiped out by offsetting penalties. Two plays later, he was intercepted. On the next Milford possession, the Bucs lost a chance to advance when they fumbled the snap on fourth down. Milford managed only 5 first downs and their leading rushers, Karel Devore and R.J. Chandler, combined for only 40 yards, with Devore totalling 30 of them. The Bucs host Caravel Academy in another nonconference game on Friday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m. Milford Index | Sports Index |
