2002 Game by Game ... Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 Milford 4, Polytech 0 The Bucs improved their record to 4-6 overall with the Henlopen Conference triumph. Carrie Grier scored three of Milford's goals, while Kelly Graybeal notched the other. Holly Van Auken contributed two assists and Ashley Huber one assist for the Bucs. Milford outshot Polytech 18-4 and got 4 saves in goal from Lacey Moffett. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002 Smyrna 2, Milford 0 The Bucs were shut out in a Henlopen Conference Southern Division contest. Milford trailed 7-3 in shots and 10-7 in penalty corners. Lacey Moffett recorded five saves in goal for the Bucs. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002 Lake Forest 2, Milford 1 The Bucs played Lake Forest tough but lost the Henlopen Conference game on a goal with five minutes left. Holly Van Auken scored the Bucs' goal. Lacey Moffett finished with 10 saves in goal. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 Seaford 2, Milford 1 The Bucs lost a 1-0 halftime lead and ultimately the game in a Henlopen Conference contest. Julie Wyatt had given the Bucs their lead with a first half goal but Seaford responded midway through the second half with a pair of goals in a 30-second span. Goalie Lacey Moffett recorded 6 saves for the Bucs. Milford led 12-10 in shots while trailing 6-5 in penalty corners. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 Cape Henlopen 1, Milford 0 Milford's two-game winning streak was snapped on a first half goal by undefeated Cape Henlopen. Goalie Lacey Moffett recorded 11 saves in a valiant effort for Milford. The Bucs trailed 12-6 in shots and 14-2 in penalty corners. The loss dropped the Bucs to 3-3 in the Henlopen Conference and overall. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 Milford 3, Woodbridge 1 The Bucs collected their second straight win to improve to 3-2 in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division and overall. Sarah Coyne, Janelle Wilkins and Carrie Grier scored the goals for the Bucs, while Ashley Huber and Holly Van Auken contributed an assist apiece. Goalie Lacey Moffett recorded 16 saves. Milford trailed Woodbridge in both shots (20-18) and penalty corners (16-12). Friday, Sept. 20, 2002 Milford 1, Sussex Tech 0 The Bucs broke into the win column with the tight Henlopen Conference triumph. Now 1-3 in the conference and overall, Milford scored in the first half on a goal by Holly Van Auken off an assist from Ashley Huber. The Bucs led Milford 14-5 in shots while trailing 8-7 in saves. Goalie Lacey Moffett had 2 saves. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 Delmar 3, Milford 2 The Bucs fell to 0-3 in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division and overall when Delmar rallied for three goals in the second half to overcome a 1-0 Milford lead. Kelly Graybeal scored both of Milford's goals. Her goal in the first half gave the Bucs a 1-0 lead. Goalie Lacey Moffett recorded 11 saves. Milford trailed 19-7 in shots and 11-3 in penalty corners. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002 Caesar Rodney 3, Milford 0 The Bucs continued to look for the first win after the shutout loss. Milford is 0-2 in the Henlopen Conference and overall. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 Indian River 4, Milford 1 The Bucs dropped their Henlopen Conference and season-opener as Indian River controlled most of the play.
