for Sussex Central |
Sussex Central 44, Seaford 0 The floodgates opened literally and figuratively for Seaford High School's football team as it dropped its second consecutive contest. In falling to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the Henlopen Conference Northern Division, the Blue Jays were unable to find the end zone on a rainy night while seeing Sussex Central, one of the North's favorites, put up big play after big play. It was the second shutout of the season for Central, which rose to 2-0 in the North and 6-0 overall. The Blue Jays were held to 8 total yards and only 1 first down in the contest. The matchup was Seaford's first against Central since the 1999 season. The Blue Jays played in the Henlopen South in 2000 and 2001. The Jays try to get back on track with a home game against Henlopen North contender Caesar Rodney on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Seaford Index | Sports Index |
