Another attempt at a late-game rally fell short as the Sussex Tech High School football team dropped its fourth straight game.

In falling to 1-4 overall with the loss in their Henlopen Conference Northern Division opener, the Ravens' hopes for a Division I state tournament berth were all but dashed.

Since a 34-0 season-opening victory over Delcastle, the Ravens have had trouble scoring as they've managed no more than 14 points since then.

Against Sussex Central, now unbeaten at 5-0, they didn't score until running back Kevin Maull busted open a 57-yard run to bring the Ravens within 15-7 with 8:40 left in the game. Maull rushed for 122 yards on only 10 carries.

Two drives after that failed to provide Tech the tying points. The Ravens did drive to the Central 26 on its last drive, but the game ended on quarterback Brandon Hudson's incomplete pass into the end zone.

Tech hosts Caesar Rodney in a Henlopen North battle on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. .
