Lake Forest 5, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were unable to get off a shot in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division loss. Goalie Ashley Thompson recorded 10 saves for the Raiders, who were tied 0-0 at halftime but succumbed to five Spartan goals in the second half. Lake Forest led 15-0 in shots and 11-1 in penalty corners. Polytech 1, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were outshot 9-2 and trailed 16-3 in penalty corners in the Henlopen Conference defeat. The victory was the first of the season for Polytech. Caesar Rodney 3, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were were outshot 10-4 and trailed 3-2 in penalty corners in a Henlopen Conference loss. Smyrna 2, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were shut out in a Henlopen Conference Southern Division contest. Goalie Nikki Youse recorded 3 saves for Woodbridge, which was outshot 12-3. Milford 3, Woodbridge 1 The Blue Raiders led in shots and penalty corners but couldn't come up with the Henlopen Conference Southern Division victory. Woodbridge led Milford 20-18 in shots and 16-12 in penalty corners. Amanda Smith scored the Raiders' lone goal in the second half, while goalie Ashley Thompson recorded 5 saves. Seaford 2, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders suffered their second straight loss by shutout in the Henlopen Conference defeat. Seaford scored a goal in each half. Woodbridge trailed 11-9 in shots and 13-9 in penalty corners. Goalie Nikki Youse had 5 saves and Ashley Thompson had 4 saves for the Raiders. Laurel 2, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders saw a chance for their first victory disappear when Laurel scored two goals in the second half of the Henlopen Conference Southern Division contest. Goalie Nikki Youse recorded 15 saves for the Raiders to keep things close. Woodbridge trailed 22-2 in shots and 25-2 in penalty corners. Cape Henlopen 1, Woodbridge 0 (OT) Despite not getting off a single shot, the Blue Raiders, behind goalie Nikki Youse, nearly pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Henlopen Conference history in their season-opener. Cape Henlopen averted the upset when it scored at the 23-second mark of the overtime period. Youse finished with 9 saves for the Raiders, who trailed 19-0 in shots and 30-1 in penalty corners. |
