After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs scored first on a 31-yard run by Mike Snead in the third period. Laurel was outgained 221-151 on the ground. The nonconference loss dropped the Bulldogs to 4-4 overall but had no bearing on their state tournament chances. Laurel, however, couldn't get its offense untracked, and saw any chance for win or a tie slip away late in the fourth quarter when a last-ditch pass was blocked at the line of scrimmage on fourth down at the Caravel 3 yard line. Titus Mims led Laurel with 65 yards rushing on 15 carries. |
