Hodgson 8, Laurel 6
The Bulldogs had their four-game winning streak snapped by the Eagles of Flight B of the Blue Hen Conference. After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs scored first on a 31-yard run by Mike Snead in the third period. That 6-0 lead held up until the fourth quarter, when Hodgson's Darrell Fawcett scored on a 2-yard run with 7:49 left and quarterback Armond Williams converted the two-point run. Laurel was outgained 221-151 on the ground. The nonconference loss dropped the Bulldogs to 4-4 overall but had no bearing on their state tournament chances. The Bulldogs visit Woodbridge Friday, Nov. 12, in a game that will determine the Henlopen South champion and Division II state tournament berth.

Laurel continued to rebound from its 0-3 start to remain tied with Woodbridge atop the Henlopen South with a 2-0 mark. The 2-3 Bulldogs ran for 318 yards and only had to punt once, quarterback Shawn Phillips threw 3 touchdown passes, and the defense recorded its first shutout of the season. Phillips only threw 5 passes in the game, but hit tight end Terrence Dupont with a 24-yard touchdown pass, receiver Derek Conaway with an 8-yard TD toss, and John Small with a 12-yard scoring strike. The Bulldogs also scored on a 5-yard run by running back Titus Mims and a 55-yard run by running back Mike Snead, who finished with 77 yards rushing. Mims ran for more than 100 yards for the fourth straight game and Conaway led the defense with two interceptions.

Wicomico (Md.) 13, Laurel 8
Mistakes continue to plague the Bulldogs, who coughed up three interceptions and a fumble in the non-conference loss. The Bulldogs did make a game of it late when running back Titus Mims' 2-yard TD run and quarterback Shawn Phillips' two-point conversion pass to end Derek Conaway pulled them within 13-8 with 5:03 left in the fourth quarter. Wi-Hi ran four minutes off the clock after that, though, reducing Laurel's chances to one last possession in its own territory with just a minute left. Mims led Laurel with 102 yards on the ground.

Caravel 7, Laurel 0
Other than a 52-yard touchdown run by Caravel's Nelson Drew on the second play from scrimmage, the Bulldogs' defense put a lid on the bigger Buccaneers. Laurel, however, couldn't get its offense untracked, and saw any chance for win or a tie slip away late in the fourth quarter when a last-ditch pass was blocked at the line of scrimmage on fourth down at the Caravel 3 yard line. Titus Mims led Laurel with 65 yards rushing on 15 carries.
