The state's top-ranked team remained unbeaten behind the two-hit pitching of Maggie Lingo. Lingo struck out 10 and helped her own cause with a double. Cape scored all three of its runs in the third inning. Amanda Warrington had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the inning. The Vikings are now 16-0 overall.

Cape Henlopen 8, Milford 5

The Vikings kept their unbeaten record intact with an important Henlopen Conference victory in a battle of the state's two top-ranked teams. In rising to 9-0 in the conference and 14-0 overall, No. 1 Cape took the game over with four runs in the sixth inning for a 7-2 lead before No. 2 Milford made it interesting with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. The four-run sixth, which made a winner of pitcher Maggie Lingo, took off with a run-scoring single by Brittany Morris. By inning's end, Morris, Andrea Carey, Lindsey Williams and Lingo had all scored, Maren Ford had driven in a run, and the other two runs scored on errors. The Vikings also put together a big inning in the third with three runs to take a 3-2 lead. Jen Carter singled and scored, Lingo reached on an error and scored, and Morris reached on another error and scored. In the top of the seventh, Cape got its final run on a run-scoring single by Williams. Lingo made the lead stand up by scattering five hits and posting five strikeouts. The victory broke an 11-game winning streak for Miford, which fell to 6-2 in the conference and 11-2 overall.

Cape Henlopen 5, Padua 1

The Vikings remained unbeaten with the nonconference victory. Maggie Lingo hurled a two-hitter for the Vikings, who rose to 12-0 overall. Amanda Warrington and Jen Carter were each 2-for-4 with a run batted in and Lindsey Williams added two hits in three trips to the plate. Cape secured the win with three runs in the second inning and two more in the sixth.

Cape Henlopen 5, Sussex Central 3

Amanda Warrington sparked the unbeaten Vikings with a 3-for-3 effort at the plate that included a triple. Lindsey Williams added two singles and Jen Carter an RBI-single to back winning pitcher Maggie Lingo. Lingo allowed only three hits. The Vikings are 5-0 in the conference and 8-0 overall.

Maggie Lingo struck out four in a complete-game performance that kept the Vikings unbeaten. Amanda Warrington went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead Cape at the plate. Cape is now 3-0 in the Henlopen Conference and 5-0 overall.

Cape Henlopen 5, Lake Forest 1

The Vikings remained unbeaten at 2-0 in the Henlopen Conference and 4-0 overall as pitcher Maggie Lingo turned in another strong performance. In her second complete-game win of the season, Lingo struck out seven and allowed only two hits. Amanda Warrington doubled and Maren Ford added two singles and two runs scored to back Lingo. Cape, ranked 4th in the state, put the game away in the seventh inning with three runs.

The Vikings, ranked 4th in the state, recorded their second straight Henlopen Conference shutout behind winning pitcher Maggie Lingo five-inning no-hitter. Lingo struck out 10 and walked two. Maren Ford collected three hits and five runs scored, Amanda Warrington had three hits and three runs scored, and Jen Carter posted two hits and three runs scored. Ford's hits included a double.

The Vikings opened their season behind winning pitcher Maggie Lingo and second baseman Maren Ford. Lingo scattered 5 hits over six innings. Ford went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and Brittany Morris singled in a run. Amanda Carey belted a double. The Vikings took advantage of four Laurel errors.
