The Wildcats stunned the state's 10th-ranked team behind the pitching of Scott Price and reliever Dustin Johnson. Michael Hunt squeezed home Greg Cathell in the third inning for the eventual winning run. Price worked out of a bases-loaded jam with no outs in the second inning and settled down from there.

The Wildcats dropped the Henlopen Conference affair to the state's 8th-ranked team. Michael Hunt hit a solo home run for Delmar in the seventh inning. Dustin Johnson added two hits.

Seaford 4, Delmar 1

The Wildcats lost the Henlopen Conference contest after falling behind 2-0 in the first inning. Jay Wright singled in a run in the second inning to bring the Wildcats within 2-1 but Seaford sealed the outcome with a pair of runs in the third inning.

The Wildcats lost their Henlopen Conference and season-opener. Greg Cathell scored two runs for Delmar. The Wildcats trailed 6-1 after the first two innings and 8-1 after four innings.
