Championship Celebration Delaware Tech-Owens baseball players received their official 2001 Junior College World Series rings at Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Md., before a Delmarva Shorebirds game against Charleston on Friday, Aug. 31, 2001. Roadrunner pitcher Mark Comolli became a pitcher with Charleston after the World Series title. Comoli was drafted in the 25th round by Charleston's parent team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Comoli, an Indian River High School graduate, allowed just one run in 17 innings in the World Series. The Roadrunners return six players from the championship team for Coach Curtis Brock, who was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Coach of the Year this spring.
