The Indians came through in the bottom of the seventh inning as Christina Gabriel singled in Brandy Ash with the Henlopen Conference game's only run. In the seventh, Ash, who went 2-for-3, singled and moved to third on a hit-and-run by Samantha Wilkinson that put runners on first and third. Gabriel followed with the game-winning sigle.

After the 9th inning, the two teams went to an international tiebreaker that allows both teams to start their half of the inning with a runner on second base. Senior IR pitcher Cara Deldeo and Delmar freshman Ashley Dryden engaged in a scoreless duel through nine innings. Deldeo finished with 15 strikeouts to Dryden's 12.
