Caesar Rodney 12, Seaford 0 The Blue Jays lost the battle between Henlopen Conference division leaders and two of the state's Top 10 teams in a game that ended after five innings under the mercy rule. Seaford, the leaders of the Henlopen South, fell to 9-2 in the conference and 11-3 overall after managing only two hits against CR starter Justin Stickland. Seaford entered the game ranked fourth in the state, while CR was ranked eighth. Seaford 4, Laurel 0 The state's fifth-ranked team had little trouble with its rivals. Starter Nick Pegelow shut the Bulldogs down on two hits before turning things over to reliever Nick Dunk in the seventh. Pegelow struck out seven. Justin Quillen went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a run scored for Seaford, which scored four times in the first four innings to take control of the Henlopen Conference contest. Seaford 4, Delmar 1 The Blue Jays kept their unbeaten record intact with the Henlopen Conference triumph. Brent Evans belted a two-run home run in the first inning to account for the winning runs. Nick Pegelow went six innings for the win with help from Nick Dunk in the seventh. Seaford is 3-0 in the conference and 4-0 overall. Seaford 9, Sussex Central 1 The Blue Jays picked up a major Henlopen Conference victory in a battle of two of the state's Top 10 teams. Seaford, ranked 7th in the state, rode the 3-hit, 11-strikeout pitching of Toby Waller to the key early season win. Waller also belted two doubles including a three-run double that sparked a six-run seventh inning that took Seaford from a 3-0 lead to a 9-0 lead. Brandon Komorowski went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Seaford 16, Sussex Tech 3 The Blue Jays successfully opened their Henlopen Conference season with the easy win. Ranked 7th in the state, Seaford only had 8 hits to Tech's 9 hits but took advantage of 6 Raven errors. Scott Bleile doubled for the Jays while Nick Pegelow earned the win on the mound. He was relieved by Nick Dunk in the sixth inning. Seaford 5, St. Elizabeth 1 The Blue Jays started their season with a late rally in the non-conference win. Down 1-0 in the sixth inning, the Blue Jays stormed past St. Elizabeth with all five of their runs. Center fielder Brent Evans blasted a two-run triple, shortstop Nick Dunk delivered a two-run single, and Justin Woodland hit a run-scoring single in the inning.
