First Round State Tournament Cape Henlopen 66, Sussex Tech 51 The Ravens' season ended with a loss to a Cape team they had just beaten two weeks earlier. The Ravens committed 29 turnovers in the game and shot just 11-for-37 from the field. They trailed 29-17 at halftime. Sussex Tech 56, Sussex Central 45 The Ravens closed out the regular season with a win over their arch rivals. Tyshia Coursey led the way with 17 points. Myeisha Everette scored 15 more. The Ravens face Cape Henlopen in the first round of the state tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. at Sussex Central. Sussex Tech 48, Cape Henlopen 36 The Ravens scored a big win over their Henlopen North rivals in their bid for a state tournament berth. Marsha Arthur led the way with 17 points. Tyshia Coursey added 16 points. Milford 57, Sussex Tech 53 The Ravens got a game-high 21 points from Marsha Arthur but it wasn't enough in the Henlopen North game. Tyshia Coursey added 12 points for Tech. Sussex Tech 56, Sussex Central 45 The Ravens jumped on Dover early as they held Dover to just two second period points and took a 24-13 halftime lead. Tyshia Coursey paced Tech with 21 points. Myeisha Everette added 12 points. Sussex Tech 78, Woodbridge 27 The Ravens collected the easy win over the winless Raiders behind Myeisha Everette's 14 points. Everette led five Ravens in double figures as Martha Arthur, Michelle Smith and Tyshia Coursey each scored 11 points and Marsha Arthur added 10. Sussex Tech 57, Laurel 38 The Ravens rolled to the victory behind Myeisha Everette's 15 points. Everette scored 12 of her points in the first half. Tyshia Coursey added 14 more points. Sussex Tech 46, Smyrna 31 The Ravens stormed back from a five-point first quarter deficit with an 18-4 advantage in the second quarter. Tyshia Coursey sparked the rally and finished with 18 points. Harper Cornell added 12 more points for Tech, which held Smyrna and high-scoring Amanda Magri to just 15 points over the last three periods. Caesar Rodney 70, Sussex Tech 53 The Ravens dropped to 4-3 in the Henlopen North and 4-4 overall with the loss to the unbeaten Riders. Marsha Arthur led Tech with 10 points. Tyshia Coursey added 9 points. The Ravens actually led 16-13 after the first quarter but gradually fell behind the rest of the way. Sussex Tech 43, Sussex Central 33 The Ravens took control of the game in the first half as they built a 13-point halftime lead. Marsha Arthur scored 11 points for Tech. Delcastle 42, Sussex Tech 38 The Ravens nearly toppled the state's 8th-ranked team before succumbing in the nonconference game to fall to 3-3 overall. Marsha Arthur led Tech with 16 points. Tyshia Coursey added 10 more. After falling behind 13-6 in the first quarter, the Ravens outscored Delcastle by 5 points in the second period to pull within 18-16 at halftime. An 11-6 deficit in the third quarter, however, proved to be too much to overcome. Cape Henlopen 53, Sussex Tech 48 The Ravens stayed close but couldn't come up with the run needed to secure a win. Tyshia Coursey's 18 points led the Ravens. Marsha Arthur chipped in with 10 points. The Ravens are now 3-2 in the North and overall. Sussex Tech 44, Polytech 40 The Ravens overcame a 9-point deficit entering the final period to pull off the Henlopen North triumph. Tyshia Coursey scored 19 points to help lead the comeback that handed Polytech its first loss. The Ravens are now 3-1 in the North and overall. Sussex Tech 37, Milford 33 The Ravens collected their second win in a row to rise to 2-1 in the Henlopen North and overall. Tyshia Coursey sparked the Ravens with 12 points. Martha Arthur added 8 more. Tech led by 8 points at halftime. Sussex Tech 51, Dover 25 The Ravens collected their first victory of the season behind a 19-point third quarter. Myeisha Everette and Rebecca Ames each scored 11 points for Tech, which improved to 1-1 in the Henlopen North and overall. Caesar Rodney 67, Sussex Tech 58 The Ravens dropped their season-opener to the defending Henlopen Conference Northern Division champion. Rebecca Ames' 13 points led the Ravens. Martha Arthur and Harper Cornell added 12 points apiece. |
