Laurel 57, Woodbridge 31 The Blue Raiders put up a good fight but couldn't come up with their first win of the season. Rayna Horsey paced the Raiders with 11 points. Woodbridge is 0-15. Caesar Rodney 85, Woodbridge 5 The Blue Raiders were never in contention against the Henlopen North leading Riders. Heather Purnell scored all 5 points for Woodbridge, which fell to 0-15. Seaford 79, Woodbridge 12 The Blue Raiders fell to 0-14 with the loss to the Henlopen South leaders. Heather Pennell and Rayna Horsey scored all of the Blue Raiders' points with 6 points apiece. Woodbridge trailed 51-0 at halftime. Sussex Tech 78, Woodbridge 27 The Raiders got 8 points from Payna Horsey in the loss. Woodbridge is still winless. Polytech 49, Woodbridge 19 The Raiders remained winless with the loss to the 11-2 Panthers. Rayna Horsey's 10 points sparked the Raiders. Dover 48, Woodbridge 14 The Blue Raiders trailed 22-5 at halftime against the Northern Division Senators. Alicia Jackson paced Woodbridge with 9 points. Woodbridge fell to 0-8 with the loss. Smyrna 56, Woodbridge 29 The Raiders fell apart in the second quarter as they were outscored 21-2 in the Henlopen South game. Heather Pennell's 13 points paced Woodbridge. Laurel 69, Woodbridge 36 The Blue Raiders continued to show signs of improvement despite falling to 0-4 in the Henlopen South and 0-5 overall. Woodbridge scored by far its highest point total of the season and got its first double-figure scorers of the year with Amanda Akens and Heather Pennell scoring 11 points each. Indian River 68, Woodbridge 15 The Blue Raiders dropped their fourth straight to start the season but did record their highest point total of the season against the defending Henlopen South champs. The Raiders are now 0-3 in the division and 0-4 overall. Worcester Prep 48, Woodbridge 13 The Blue Raiders suffered their third consecutive lopsided loss to start the season. Heather Pennell led the Raiders with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Seaford 87, Woodbridge 7 The Raiders were never in the game as they fell to 0-2 with the loss to one of the favorites in the Henlopen Conference's Northern Division. Lake Forest 50, Woodbridge 10 The Blue Raiders failed to score a point in the first half as they fell behind 34-0 in their season-opening loss. Heather Pennell was Woodbridge's leading scorer with 5 points. Second-year coach Robert Cheerix, whose club went 1-19 last year, has seven seniors with little varsity experience. The Raiders almost didn't field a varsity team this year but pulled up all of their ninth graders and left only eighth graders on the junior varsity. |
