The Sussex Central High School wrestling team captured the team title in the annual Seaford Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Friday, Dec. 29, 2000.
 With 190.5 points, the Golden Knights easily outdistanced runnerup Lake Forest, which posted 143.5 points. Indian River was fifth with 85 points, Seaford eighth with 79 points, and Woodbridge 10th with 46 points.
The Knights won six individual titles including five straight from 140 to 171.
James Leyh won the 140 title, Casey Strohmeyer the 145 crown, Teddy Thompson the 152 championship, Raheim Brunskill the 160 final, and Erik Hopkins the 171 title. A.J. Rovillard claimed the 245 championship.
Other Sussex wrestlers to capture individual championships were Indian River's Will Saylor at 103 and Tyrice Nocks at 125, and Seaford's Cameron Fitzgerald at 135.
Fitzgerald was named the tournament's outstanding wrestler.
