Sussex Tech 47, Sussex Central 31 The Knights concluded their season with a Henlopen Conference loss to their cross-town rivals. Central stayed close in the first quarter but was outscored by Sussex Tech 13-1 in the second quarter. Candace Shockey's 11 points led the Golden Knights. Central finished its season at 2-17 in the conference and 2-20 overall. Cape Henlopen 75, Sussex Central 30 The Knights got 8 points from Candace Shockley in the Henlopen Conference loss. Now 2-16 in the conference and 2-19 overall, Central fell behind Cape Henlopen 36-13 at halftime. Polytech 59, Sussex Central 20 The Knights fell to the Henlopen Conference Northern Division leaders to drop to 2-15 in the conference and 2-18 overall. Sussex Central 48, Milford 41 The Knights collected their second win of the year in the Henlopen Confernce contest. Now 2-14 in the conference and 2-17 overall, Central took a 35-26 lead over Milford into the fourth quarter. Jessica Hudson sparked the Knights with 10 points, while Toneka Scharff and Danielle Blake added 9 and 8 points, respectively. Scharff also had 16 rebounds. Dover 67, Sussex Central 39 The Knights dropped the Henlopen Confernce contest to fall to 1-14 in the conference and 1-17 overall. Danielle Blake's 8 points led Central, which trailed 32-20 at halftime. Caesar Rodney 80, Sussex Central 16 The Golden Knights fell to 1-13 in the Henlopen Conference and 1-16 overall with the loss to the Northern Division power Riders. Sussex Central 47, Woodbridge 28 The Golden Knights posted their first victory of the season in the Henlopen Conference battle of winless teams. The Knights took a 22-11 victory at halftime and then put the game away with a 21-9 edge over Woodbridge in the third quarter. Jessica Hudson sparked the Knights with 10 points. Danielle Blake and Crystal Megginson added 8 and 6 points, respectively. The Knights rose to 1-12 in the conference and 1-15 overall. Indian River 60, Sussex Central 26 The Golden Knights didn't have much luck against their district rivals in the Henlopen Conference game. Central fell behind Indian River 35-6 at halftime to fall to 0-12 in the conference and 0-15 overall. Toneka Scharff paced the Knights with 12 points. Laurel 59, Sussex Central 49 The Golden Knights fell to 0-11 in the Henlopen Conference and 0-14 overall. Central trailed 21-10 after the first quarter and 40-25 at halftime. Jessica Hudson scored a season-high 17 points, while Ashley Cannon added 13. The Knights visit Indian River in a conference contest on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7:30 p.m. Delmar 56, Sussex Central 27 The Golden Knights fell behind 20-0 in the first half and never challenged after that. Central is now 0-10 in the Henlopen Conference and 0-13 overall. Smyrna 64, Sussex Central 32 The Golden Knights fell behind 29-10 at halftime of the Henlopen Conference contest. Ashley Cannon paced the Knights with 12 points. Central is now 0-9 in the conference and 0-12 overall. Wilmington Christian 66, Sussex Central 30 The Golden Knights dropped the nonconference game after scoring just three points in the first quarter. Central dropped to 0-11 overall with the defeat. Danielle Blake scored 8 points for the Knights. Jessica Hudson added 6. Lake Forest 38, Sussex Central 37 The Golden Knights just missed their first victory of the season after taking a 22-9 halftime lead. The Knights were outscored 18-11 in the fourth quarter. Ashley Cannon led the Knights with 9 points. Crystal Megginson and Jessica Hudson contributed 6 points apiece. The Knights are now 0-8 in the conference and 0-10 overall. Seaford 79, Sussex Central 16 The Golden Knights continued to search for their first win with the loss to the Henlopen Conference powerhouse. Ashley Cannon led the Knights with 6 points while Jessica Hudson and Crystal Megginson added 4 points apiece. Central is now 0-7 in the conference and 0-9 overall. Sussex Tech 35, Sussex Central 19 The Golden Knights remained winless with the Henlopen Conference loss to rival Sussex Tech. In falling to 0-7 overall, the Knights trailed Indian River 31-14 at halftime and 43-17 after three periods. Jessica Hudson and Wilmbily Hooper paced the Knights with 4 points apiece. Cape Henlopen 54, Sussex Central 31 The Golden Knights continued to search for the first win as they fell to 0-5 in the Henlopen Conference and overall. The Knights were outscored 16-5 in the first quarter and 19-2 in the third period. Brittany Adkins led Central with 11 points. Polytech 63, Sussex Central 31 The Golden Knights fell to 0-4 in the Henlopen Conference and overall after falling behind 34-8 at halftime. Jessica Hill and Ashley Cannon led the Knights with 8 points apiece. Milford 41, Sussex Central 30 The Golden Knights fell to 0-3 with the loss to Milford. Guards Jessica Hill and Latasha Hatton led the Knights with 8 and 6 points, respectively. Hill hit a three-pointer. Milford took 53 free throws to Central's 24. Caesar Rodney 74, Sussex Central 33 The Golden Knights, faced with replacing first team all-conference performer Kaneisha Trott, started their season with a loss to Henlopen Conference power Caesar Rodney in new coach Sarah Hudson's debut. The defending Northern Division champions took a 42-12 lead at halftime. Central managed only 2 points in the first period. The Knights were led by center Brittany Adkins' 7 points.
