Seaford 37, Polytech 37 The Blue Jays won the Henlopen Conference Northern Division dual meet on criteria. Seaford got four pins from Kyle Kilgoe at 135, Chris Wright at 171, Bobby Drayton at 189, and Trey Vann at heavyweight. Seaford 51, Indian River 22 The Blue Jays used five forfeits to overcome two of their own forfeits for the victory. Seaford trailed Indian River 12-6 after surrendering two forfeits before mounting a comeback on an overtime decision by B.J. Jenkins over IR's highly regarded Pat Devine at 125 and three straight forfeits. After the Indians pulled within 27-16 on a major decision at 145, the Jays put the match out of reach with consecutive pins by Grant Gray at 152 and Mike Wilson at 160 for a 39-12 lead. Seaford wrapped the victory up with a pin by Brandon Mariner at 215. Seaford 65, Woodbridge 6 The Blue Jays rolled to the victory three pins, a technical fall and two forfeits. Recording pins for the Blue Jays were Jason Enders at 140, Chris Wright at 171 and Thomas at 103. B.J. Jenkins won by technical fall at 125, while Grant Gray and Mike DiCarlo won by decision at 152 and 145, respectively. Milford 52, Seaford 19 The Blue Jays lost the Henlopen Conference dual meet to unbeaten Milford. Seaford got pins from Mike Wilson at 160 and Bobby Drayton at 189. Smyrna 58, Seaford 15 The Blue Jays lost 11 of 14 matches, including 6 by pin, in the loss to the Henlopen Conference Southern Division power. Trey Vann won by pin for the Blue Jays at heavyweight. Seaford is 2-3 overall. Seaford 37, Cape Henlopen 31 The Blue Jays recovered from a heart-breaking loss to Tech to record a heart-stopping Henlopen Conference Northern Division victory. Seaford and Cape Henlopen were tied 31-31 heading into the final match of the night at 160, and Mike Wilson came through for the Blue Jays with a first period pin. Wilson's pin capped a rally that saw Seaford overcome a 25-12 deficit to win 5 of the last 6 matches. Chris Wright also won by pin for Seaford at 171. Sussex Tech 37, Seaford 36 The Blue Jays mounted a furious comeback but couldn't come up with the extra point they needed in a Henlopen Conference Northern Division defeat. Trailing Sussex Tech 37-16 after forfeits at 112 and 119, Seaford started its comeback with a pin by B.J. Jenkins at 125. Ryan West followed with a technical fall at 130 and Kyle Kilgoe recorded a pin at 135 to pull the Jays within 37-33. Jason Enders then scored a 10-7 decision in the final match of the night at 140 to account for the final score. Seaford stayed close through the first six matches as a pin by Grant Gray at 152, a decision by Mike Wilson at 171, and a pin by Brandon Mariner at 215 gave the Jays a 16-13 advantage. Tech, however, scored two pins and two forfeits in the next four matches to grab its 37-16 advantage. Caesar Rodney 63, Seaford 9 The Blue Jays were no match for the defending regular season Henlopen Conference champions. With the dual meet starting at the 189-pound match, the Blue Jays found themselves behind 33-0 before B.J. Jenkins recorded a pin at 125. Grant Gray accounted for Seaford's other victory with a 9-7 decision over CR's Dan Rigby in overtime. |
