Cape Henlopen 79, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were shut out for the fifth time this season as they surrendered 9 forfeits to Cape Henlopen. Smyrna 82, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were shut out for the fourth time this season in the loss to the Henlopen Conference Southern Division power. Only three matches were wrestled as the Raiders surrendered 11 forfeits. Dover 60, Woodbridge 13 The Blue Raiders surrendered five forfeits, three pins and a technical fall in the defeat. Winning for Woodbridge wer Lyle Neal by a pin at 130, Richard Hall by a decision at 135, and Bruce Baker by a major decision at 140. Seaford 65, Woodbridge 6 The Blue Raiders avoided their fourth shutout of the season when they got a forfeit in the 119-pound match. Seaford won six matches by forfeit. Polytech 55, Woodbridge 15 Despite the loss, the Blue Raiders did hit double figures in points for one of the few times this season. Lyle Neal (130) and Bruce Baker (140) picked up the biggest wins for Woodbridge with pins. Ricky Hughes won his match at 152 by decision. Sussex Central 77, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders suffered their third straight loss by shutout as they surrendered five forfeits, six pins and a technical fall to powerhouse Sussex Central. Woodbridge hosts Sussex Tech on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. Milford 74, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were shut out for the second straight dual meet. Woodbridge is now 0-3 in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division and 0-4 overall. Milford took advantage of five forfeits. Caesar Rodney 82, Woodbridge 0 The Blue Raiders were shut out by the perennial Henlopen Conference powers as they surrendered 8 pinsand 5 forfeits. Ricky Hughes was the only Raider not to be pinned. He lost a major decision to CR's Dan Rigby at 152 pounds. Woodbridge is now 0-3 overall. It was the second straight season that CR has shut the Raiders out. Last year, the Riders blanked Woodbridge 84-0. Indian River 56, Woodbridge 15 The Raiders were again hurt by forfeits in the Henlopen Conference defeat. Ricky Hughes (160) and Richard Hall (130) won their matches by forfeit, while Bruce Baker recorded a decsion at 140. The Raiders have lost 52 straight dual meets. The Raiders visit Caesar Rodney in their next dual meet on Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at 7:30 p.m. Laurel 64, Woodbridge 9 The Raiders managed only two victories while forfeiting five matches in their Henlopen Conference opener as they lost their 51st straight dual meet. Lyle Neal won by pin at 130, while Ricky Hughes won by decision at 152 for the Raiders' only points. After Hughes' decision pulled Woodbridge within 17-9, Laurel won the next eight matches, including five by forfeit. |
